Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a quality education through shared responsibility in a safe supportive environment for all students to meet the challenges of a global society.

We are “Committed to Excellence”, and we work hard to make the site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students and other members of our community. Our goal and responsibility is to help each student develop an enthusiasm for learning, a respect for self and others, and the skills to become a creative independent thinker and problem solver.

Watch JW & Yale Bands Perform Together

8th-grade band members joined the Yale Concert Band onstage at Woolsey Hall for the Yale Spring Concert April 7th. JW Music Teacher, Laura Traver, led the JW Band in a solo march before conducting the combined JW/Yale Band performing 'By the Rivers of Babylon'.

Our musicians experienced music at a very high level and represented JWMS very well, both musically and personally, throughout the concert. A tremendous 'thank you' to Yale University for providing this experience and to the Yale band members for being such gracious hosts.

A reminder to parents that you are able to set up printing from student Chromebooks at home. 'Google Cloud Print' will take you through set up procedures to get you connected.

______________________________________________________ Health Requirements

Schedule your doctors appointments now - don’t wait - they book quickly! As stated in Board Policy 5141: “A child will not be allowed, as the case may be, to begin or continue in district schools unless health assessments are performed as required. Students transferring into the district must provide evidence of required Connecticut vaccinations, immunizations, and health assessments at enrollment and prior to school attendance.” See the list of required health assessments and plan ahead to make sure your child is all set to begin school.
