JW Recognized as a NELMS

SPOTLIGHT SCHOOL once again!

Once again John Winthrop Middle School has been identified as a New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS) Spotlight School. A NELMS Spotlight School is recognized for developing strong effective programs that reflect current concepts and middle level state recommendations. NELMS representatives spent a January day at JWMS observing classrooms, talking with students, parents, and administrators, touring the building and asking questions.

The recognition letter noted that JWMS "is committed to effective instruction, collaboration, teaming, and a solid understanding of the young adolescent."

We are honored to continue to be recognized as a Spotlight School - a designation bestowed on only 30 middle schools in New England. We have maintained this standing since 2008!
