8th Grade Chorus

Forty of our 8th-grade chorus students visited the Connecticut River Museum on Tuesday, October 17th, for a U.S. Naturalization Ceremony. They presented our nation's colors, sang the National Anthem and Our Country 'Tis of Thee, and led the Pledge of Allegiance as part of the culminating event in the citizenship process.

Our students witnessed this court proceeding, which included remarks by U.S. Representative Joe Courtney, State Representative Robert Siegrist, Essex First Selectman Norm Needleman, and representatives from U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and State Senator Art Linares' offices. Over 50 people received their United States citizenship certificates after completing the 7-year process. Congratulations to our new citizens!
